The Pasticcino Bag World Tour
Once again, the Pasticcino is on the move. Season after season, the iconic bag will travel from city to city, supporting local artisanal excellence and crafting traditions along the way. Its first stop takes us to Venice, where the city’s glorious history in textiles and glass-making is celebrated in the new Weekend Max Mara Pasticcino Bag Modello Venezia.

One of a kind
Each Pasticcino is dressed in sumptuous Mariano Fortuny fabrics – often regarded as the finest in the world – and finished with exquisite colourful ball clasps handmade in Murano, a tiny island on the Venice Lagoon known for its unrivalled glassmaking for over eight centuries.

In 1922, Mariano Fortuny transformed an ancient convent on the island of Giudecca into his legendary textile mill, where today the iconic fabrics are still made on the original machines. Each is a piece of art, featuring its signature Renaissance patterns, hand-dyed finishes and metallic accents across a palette of blue, lavender, pink and green.

Finishing touch
The two boules that adorn the Pasticcino Bag Modello Venezia are handmade by esteemed glass workshop Gambaro & Tagliapietra, celebrated for its one-of-a-kind pieces. One fuses an ivory base with contrasting streaks for a marbleised effect, while the other is made with a pastel-tinted base soaked in a clear finish.
